Our take

Editorial context remains separate from factual specifications.

The Apple iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED, HDR10, Dolby Vision, 1000 nits (typ), 2000 nits (HBM) display with 60Hz refresh rate. It uses the Apple A18 (3 nm) processor. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, 512GB. Rear cameras: 48 MP wide sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. Battery capacity is 3561 mAh, with Wired, PD2.0 25W wireless (MagSafe), 15W wireless (China only) 15W wireless (Qi2) 4.5W reverse wired charging. It runs iOS 18, upgradable to iOS 18.6.

The iPhone 16 is still a solid iPhone with the A18 chip, 8GB RAM, a 48MP main camera and IP68 protection. To be honest, though, it has a 60Hz screen, and the iPhone 17 brings 120Hz, 256GB base storage and a better selfie camera. If you're buying new, the extra money for the 17 is worth considering.
